Check out My First Mister and Caveman's Valentine

Even though we hear so much about the stars, the skiing and the parties, it's easy to forget what Sundance is really about. The films! Since we all can't be there, here is a taste of what is in store for movie-goers at the festival.

My First Mister

Christine Lahti’s is best known for her acting (an Oscar nominated performance in Swing Shift and TV’s Chicago Hope), but her directorial debut won her an Academy Award for Lieberman in Love in 1995. Her second stab at directing has been chosen to open the Sundance Film Festival. My First Mister is a story of unlikely love between two people who are complete opposites, not to mention their age differences. After getting a job in an upscale boutique, Jennifer, played by Eyes Wide Shut’s Leelee Sobieski, falls for her much more conservative boss, Albert Brooks.

The Caveman’s Valentine

Kasi Lemmons’ follow-up to her critically acclaimed Eve’s Bayou moves from the swamps of Louisiana to the caves of New York City for a tale of the thin line between genius and madness. Far away from his former life as a Julliard-trained musician and dedicated family man, Romulus’ (Samuel L. Jackson-who also plays the role of producer) schizophrenia causes him to hear evil voices and see visions. When he finds a dead body, he must attempt to overcome his psychosis to help uncover the mystery.
