Mammoth Mountain is monstrous with runs for all levels of skiing. Beginners can take a fall down Sesame Street while intermediates enjoy a long ride on St. Anton's run. If you're an extreme skier, try Hangman or Scotty's run, the Glades or West Bowl. Lift Cost: $52 a day. Tack on $10 for day and night skiing.

The Lakefront Restaurant with it's breathtaking views. The upscale decor at Skadi and Nevado. For a more laid back atmosphere drop by The Mill Café. Shopping at the factory outlets at stores like Ralph Lauren and Coach. High Sierra House of Blues for, well, blues and dancing. The Yoddler, where the crowd is as attractive as the the atmosphere.

The fairly new Juniper Springs Lodge features 3 bedroom suites well equipped with fireplace and kitchen. (Rates start at around $500 per night.)
