romantic fashions: she wrote the Booke
celebrate your inner princess
OK. You've seen the most romantic, amazing dress in PEOPLE MAGAZINE on actress Jennifer Aniston and you're just dying to get your hands on it. Chances are the lovely creation you may have seen Jennifer in is a Jane Booke design. Booke is a woman who beats to her own designing drum. Once, while on a trip to Europe, she bought a vintage chiffon dress. Much to her disappointment the dress came apart when she brought it home, so she decided to make it herself. She wanted to incorporate into her designs the same sense of romance, beauty and fantasy that she saw in that original vintage dress. Her love of romance gives her dresses the feel of a medieval princess or a fairy from the woods. Instead of paying attention to trends, Booke creates designs that stay true to her sense of style. As Sharon Stone summed up her love of Jane Booke designs , "[it's a] celebration of womanhood." So many beautiful actresses (including Melanie Griffith, Courtney Love, Laura Dern and Nicole Kidman) have a Jane Booke in their closet. Jane's dresses are a favorite for special occassions: Patricia Arquette wore one at Cannes, Marilu Henner the Tony Awards and Lisa Kudrow at the Emmys. Singer Amy Grant chose a Booke linen-and-silk creation for her intimate hilltop wedding to country star Vince Gill; PEOPLE Magazine quoted a guest who stated that Amy glided toward her groom "looking like a goddess." See what you think. If you're like us, you're probably not privy to the places that the stars shop, so we're going to let you in on a secret. You can buy some of Jane's glamorous designs on Melanie Griffith's official website. Some of the designs featured are a sexy kick pleat dress, comfy faux fur-trimmed slim pants and a dramatic long jacket with a Victorian feel. For those of you ready to get in touch with your inner goddess, celebrating a special occasion or wanting to play princess for a day here's the designer for you.
