travel terrors?
get a survival guide
Are you planning an exotic trip to the Sahara, or a ramble through the lower states in your Winnebago this summer? Don't leave home without buying this possible lifesaver, The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook by Joshua Piven and David Borgenischt.
Whether you are travelling within the states or abroad, this handbook pretty much has ya covered. For instance, if you happen to be in the depths of the African jungle and accidentally walk into quicksand, just follow the five easy steps and use a pole to escape. Perhaps you are travelling in Spain and suddenly find yourself in a field with a charging bull. Follow the clear directions to distracting the bull while you find safer ground. Or maybe you're simply on a fishing trip in Florida and while wading in the swamp find yourself trapped in the jaws of an alligator. With simple step-by-step instructions like "cover the alligator's eyes with your hand," (no problem!) you'll be free and seeking medical attention in no time.
The authors freely admit that they're not experts and even suggest that this handbook is as much for entertainment as a guide to survival. However, it is well researched, with many survival experts, stuntmen, and emergency professionals as sources. The instructions for each situation are clearly laid out and diagrams offer additional guidance.
We don't expect you to find yourself in most of these situations. However, if you were to deliver a baby in a cab, wouldn't it be really nice to have some idea of what to do?
