Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.

Stephanie's Diary (cont'd)

"Two more blocks!!!" we heard
There in the middle of the sidewalk we huddled together, arms around each other's shoulders, sheltering ourselves from our supporters. Little Natalie, lost in the middle of us (Me, Beth and Gale). And we cried. And we thanked each other.

Paul Baker hugs his trainee, Natalie
The holding area was restricted to walkers, crew and volunteers. It was so incredible to have this moment all to ourselves, to celebrate privately with one another. Nat's walking club all got together so we could walk into Closing Ceremonies together. Paul was so incredibly proud of his girls.

It's almost as if what was said in Closing Ceremonies is a blur to me. I would look over at Natalie and was just in awe. I have never been more proud of anyone before. I was so proud of myself, of Natalie, of her walking club and thousands of strangers. I was so thankful that I was able to participate in such an incredible experience.

Stephanie would like to use this opportunity to publicly thank her angels without whom she could not have completed this event (in alphabetical order):, Trevors Baber, Paul Baker, Jennifer Banks, Don Bannister, Jeff Browning, Alisa Curry, Craig and Tania Drake, Nancy Duitch, Chrissi Durbin, Nataile Egan and Ken Cappelli, Rachel Edlic, Eddie and Karen Fischer & Family, Bruce and Nedra Fischer, Marc Fischer, Michelle Fleenor, Mikell Green, Charlie Hallinan and Rhea Greenspan & Family, Bob Horton, Arthur Judson, Barbara and Earl Kendall, Natalie Lee, Margelle and Shelly Liss & Family, Gale Love, Beth Mooney, Louis Mosca, Van Olmstad, oneworldlive.com, Arnold Peskin, Ted Schneck, Brenda Sherry, Dr. Shiao-Ting Jing, Thomas Simcik, Stuart Smith, Dan and Sandy Sweeney, Robert Van Stone, Gary Weinhouse, Tom and Felice Weiner, Rachel Witlieb, Dewey Yesner, and Sue Zeller. << previous
