In a few short years, Nancy O'Dell has become one of Hollywood's most frequently seen faces among television entertainment anchors. Weekday co-anchor of the nationally syndicated entertainment news magazine show Access Hollywood since April 1999, O'Dell joined the Access team as the weekend anchor and weekday correspondent when the show premiered in 1996. She has covered such glamorous events as the Academy Awards, Emmys, and Golden Globe Awards, and has conducted in-depth interviews with top celebrities.
Emmy-nominated for co-hosting the 1999 Hollywood Christmas Parade, Nancy has also co-hosted the 2000 Rose Parade, the 1999 Emmy Awards Fox TV pre-shows telecast, the 2000 Golden Globe Arrivals NBC special and the 2000 St. Patrick's Day Parade for New York's WNBC-TV.
Despite her busy schedule, Nancy finds time to demonstrate her concern with important women's issues. She was honored with the Childhelp USA 1999 Woman of the World award for her commitment to children's issues, and has been the March of Dimes Blue Jeans for Babies campaign's national honorary spokesperson since 1998. Through her association with the March of Dimes, Nancy is striving to help educate women regarding prenatal and pregnancy care, to reduce the risks of birth defects, particularly through supplements of folic acid.
Nancy has received three Associated Press Awards for investigative reporting, two Society of Professional Journalists Awards, and a 1995 Suncoast Regional (FL) Emmy Award nomination. In 1999 and 2000, Nancy was nominated for the Publicist Guild Press Award, which honors outstanding journalists who cover the entertainment industry.
