Q. What's an easy way to focus on achieving my goals and the things that I want?
A. There are three critical areas to focus on that will help you create your desired future:
* Your purpose. Also called a mission statement.
* Your goals. Defined as a destination with a deadline.
* Your action strategy. Your big goal broken down into specific steps.
To start, all you have to ask yourself is, "What do I really want?" - personally and professionally. As soon as you answer, you will have engaged your conscious mind. You will have started the ball rolling on the way to your desired results.
Write It Down
You have a conscious mind that makes the decision and a subconscious mind that makes the provision. But beware of the subconscious mind. It can be devious. If your thoughts are full of fear, it will give back fear-ridden results or excuses. If it realized that excuses aren't working anymore, it still has another trick it can use: it can make you forget your goals.
That's why, as soon as you set a goal, you must WRITE IT DOWN. Writing down a goal is a second act - it affirms that you have taken action and it makes that action permanent. It makes it perfectly clear to the subconscious mind that you really intend to accomplish your goal. When you write down a goal, you commit your whole mind, conscious and subconscious, to following through.
