Dubbed the "Goddess of Skin" by her faithful clients, skincare specialist Dayle Breault is offering up a mind/body experience like no other. "If you are a goddess, your skin will never age," says the owner of the ultra private sanctuary-like salon, appropriately called Goddess of Skin, located in Santa Monica, California. Dayle's unique inside-outside approach to beauty attracts the beautiful complexions of celebrities like Jenny McCarthy, Uma Thurman, Mariah Carey and Lisa Bonet.
All treatments combine cutting-edge techniques with spiritual rejuvenation. The Ultimate Goddess Facial is two hours of sheer bliss. Along with deep cleansing and exfoliation, vigorous massage helps make the skin healthier and more vibrant by circulating blood and oxygen to the face. As with all facials, each is personalized to the specific needs of the clients, offering a variety of different scents, lotions and essential oils.
Following all Goddess treatments, Dayle uses her hands to perform a Reiki blessing, a natural form of healing using the energy of one's hands to bring healing to another. She also performs the massage strokes in series of seven, due to the number's spiritual significance. "I just let the energy of the Goddess work through me," she says. "It's so amazing -- and many of my clients tell me that they feel a greater sense of balance and completely restored after their treatments."
For those whose skin needs a little added TLC -- or if you're just in search of a deeper shade of soul the Silver Ion Mask should do the trick. Dating back to the days of Cleopatra, silver has been widely used as a powerful healing property. The mask proves to be very therapeutic, especially for those whose skin is damaged or sensitive. "This is also for those that really want to meditate and completely relax," says Dayle. The mask, made of silver ion and nylon, is placed on the face to begin the external and internal healing process. "It protects you from the energetic fields of the universe physically, spiritually and energetically, it's very soothing and calming with amazing results."
To keep skin looking radiant in between visits Dayle suggests a cold spritz of good old H20 on the face every now and then to tighten pores; for an easy hydrating face mask, combine a couple of teaspoons of plain yogurt along with one tablespoon of acidophilus powder. Add a little rose oil or honey to make the mask even more hydrating. For those with oilier complexions, mix oatmeal, tea tree oil and lemon to make an astringent.
The Result: Gorgeous, glowing, skin!
